花开 = the flower blooms
富贵 = wealth, prosperity, fortune
It is Chinese New Year and people are wishing each other health and wealth. Yes, who would not like health and wealth? From 花开富贵, we know that when the flower blooms, the wealth comes. Let’s decorate today’s post with beautiful flowers from Gardens by the Bay, wishing you 花开富贵,事事如意。
There are a total of 18 (十八) photos, 八 rhythms with 发 (prosperity) and that’s why Chinese people like the number eight a lot.
I like that flower too, but I do not know the name. If I go to Gardens by the Bay again, then I will check out the name.
I like the 闭月羞花. What flower is that?
The flower is from genus Digitalis, the common name is foxglove.
I searched further and found two species that are quite similar to the picture I took — Digitalis purpurea ‘Dalmatian White’ and Digitalis purpurea ‘Camelot Cream’.
The difference is Dalmatian White has white bells while Camelot Cream has creamy-white bells.
Thank for finding out the name! I check that this flower is toxic when eaten. Never seen this flower in streets.
