Many people compare Gravity to Avatar. Before I watch the movie, I do not think both movies are comparable. After watching the movie, I still do not think both movies are comparable. Both use 3D effects, but in a different way. Okay, we are not going into details how they are different or similar. We are going to learn from Gravity, a movie that touches my heart.
1. Keep going
Do not give up, no matter whatever situation you are in.
2. Keep calm
If you are in a hopeless situation, keep calm and think of a way to get out. This link to item 3 below.
3. Use all the knowledge that you have learnt
After you have calmed yourself down, think of all the knowledge that you have learnt and try to use them to solve your problem. Having said that, the knowledge also includes common sense.
4. Let go
Let go when you need to. Death of a loved one is especially hard to let go, but must be let go. You do not want to cling to something that will drag you down.
5. Have faith
Have faith and learn to pray.
6. Learn a second language
In this movie, it is Chinese language. I would encourage you to learn a language that is related to your work. It may not be Chinese language. Learning a second, or a third, language in this digital age is always helpful because you do not know who you will get in touch with.
Learning a second language also enables us to learn its wisdom and culture and to be more acceptive to new ideas.
7. Home is where the heart is
Go home, no matter how safe, quiet, beautiful, peaceful you feel at other places. There is no better place than home.
8. If someone would give me $1 billion, I would not go into space.
Going into space involves a lot of risks; one of the risks is that you are unable to go home. No matter how much money someone would give me, the money could not compensate the risks involved.
Gravity is a totally different movie than Avatar. For me, it is a movie that makes me think of life. Have you stumbled upon some difficult situations lately? Go and watch Gravity, you will have a new perspective on life.
